How the math works
Lost per week = missed calls per week × booking rate × average job value × repeat multiplier. Per year is that number times 52. Per month is the yearly number divided by 12.
The calculator runs in your browser. Nothing you type is saved or sent anywhere.
FAQ
- How does the missed call calculator work?
- It multiplies your missed calls per week by the share that would have booked, then by your average job value and the optional repeat multiplier. That gives a weekly figure. The year is 52 weeks, and a month is the year divided by 12.
- What booking rate should I use?
- Use your own numbers. Look at a few weeks of answered calls from new customers and count how many turned into booked jobs. There is no single right rate for every trade or market, so the calculator does not assume one.
- What is the repeat customer multiplier?
- A customer who books once often comes back for maintenance, repairs or referrals. If you know a typical customer is worth about two or three first jobs over time, enter that number. Leave it at 1 to count only the first job.
- How do I stop losing these calls?
- Common fixes are an AI receptionist that answers every call, a hybrid answering service that mixes live people with AI, or a text back tool that replies to missed calls right away. TradePhone compares options in each of these categories.
